FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Portland, OR, April 16, 2018 – Today, Chief Outlaw announced the new executive team for the Portland Police Bureau naming Captain Bob Day as the new Deputy Chief; Acting Captain Ryan Lee as the Assistant Chief of Operations; and Acting Commander of North Precinct Jami Resch as Assistant Chief of Investigations. Assistant Chief Chris Davis will remain in the Chief’s Office as Assistant Chief of Services.
As President of the Portland Police Association, I support the promotion of Captain Bob Day as the new Deputy Chief. With 28 years of experience in PPB operations, investigation, and services, Captain Day brings a wealth of knowledge that will be essential to the Chief as well as to new Assistant Chiefs Lee and Resch.
In addition, the Chief will promote Lieutenants Frome, Hurley, Mahuna, and Steinbronn to the rank of Captain. More information about lieutenants and sergeants promotions and assignments should be announced later this week.
With these changes, Chief Outlaw has appointed an Executive Team, promoted from within, that will lead the Bureau for years to come. Chief Outlaw understands that the rank and file of the Portland Police Bureau are the bedrock of this organization and that the knowledge and experience that comes from this foundation is invaluable to the success of all we do to ensure the safety of our communities.
